Cockroach Control

Having an Cockroach issue?

We can help.

Proper cockroach control starts out by inspecting the home and finding the active nests and potential reasons for the infestations. These reasons could stem from dark damp areas around drains, clutter, garbage, food, oils, and greases, not cleaning, delivery of packages through the mail (hitchhiker), and storage. There are many different types of cockroaches and not all of them are there because of filth. There are many different reasons they could have made it into your home. IPM is very important when dealing with cockroaches. Clean, Clean, Clean is where we ask you to start. Regardless of the level of cleanliness of your home, the more you stay on top of it during the treatment process the faster the cockroach issue will be resolved. We start off with stage one, treat the full interior/exterior of the home and in the kitchen cabinets with a variety of products, then dust the wall voids in the main infestation areas, we lay down glue boards in the kitchen and bait with series one baits. We follow this procedure 2-3 more times 2-3 weeks apart from each other staggering the products as to not allow immunities to set in with the cockroaches. Cockroach eradication is a process, once they are under control it is highly recommended to stay on a maintenance plan for at least a year.

Common COCKROACHES found in Minnesota

American Cockroach

American Cockroach
  • Big brown bats are insectivorous, consuming a diverse array of insects, particularly night-flying insects, but especially beetles.
  • Big brown bats are insectivorous, consuming a diverse array of insects, particularly night-flying insects, but especially beetles.
  • Big brown bats are nocturnal, foraging for prey at night and roosting in sheltered areas during the day such as caves, tunnels, tree cavities, and human structures.
  • The big brown bat breeding season is in the fall, shortly before their annual hibernation. After hibernation ends in the spring, females form maternity colonies for giving birth to young.
  • Oftentimes only one offspring is produced per litter, though twins are common in the Eastern US. Lifespans of 6.5 years are considered average.

Brown-Banded Cockroaches

Brown-Banded Cockroaches
  • The brown-banded cockroach, Supella longipalpa[1] is a small species of cockroach, measuring about 10 to 14 mm long and the most well-known in the genus Supella. It is tan to light brown and has two light-colored bands across the wings and abdomen, they may sometimes appear to be broken or irregular but are quite noticeable. The bands may be partly obscured by the wings. The male has wings that cover the abdomen, while the female has wings that do not cover the abdomen completely. The male appears more slender than the female, the female appears wider.

German Cockroaches

German Cockroaches
  • The German cockroach is a species of small cockroach, typically about 1.1 to 1.6 cm long. In color it varies from tan to almost black, and it has two dark, roughly parallel, streaks on the pronotum running anteroposteriorly from behind the head to the base of the wings.
  • The German cockroach has three life stages typical of insects with incomplete metamorphosis: the egg, nymph, and adult. The entire life cycle is completed in about 100 days. However, factors such as temperature, nutritional status, and strain differences may influence the time required to complete a life cycle.
  • Adults grow to a length of 13-16 mm. Wings: While adult German cockroaches have wings, they rarely fly, preferring to run.
  • The term "German cockroach nest" simply refers to a group of the pests living close together. Cockroaches do not build nests. Instead, once a cockroach finds a spot near food, it releases attractant pheromones that other roaches use to gather in the same place. Cockroaches may lay eggs and tend young there as well.

Oriental Cockroaches

Oriental Cockroaches
  • The oriental cockroach, also known as the waterbug or black beetle, is a large species of cockroach, adult males being 18–29 mm and adult females being 20–27 mm. It is dark brown or black in color and has a glossy body.
  • Oriental roaches prefer cool, damp locations, so they can also be found in basements and cellars. Oriental cockroaches crawl around service ducts, toilets, bathtubs, sinks, radiators and pipes.
  • The Oriental cockroach has three developmental stages: egg, nymph, and adult. Eggs are laid in capsules, which the female carries for about 30 hours and then drops onto a protected surface near a food supply. The female does not glue the egg capsule to the surface.
